Teide National Park
Trail PNT 10 Telesforo Bravo (summit, 3,715 m)
Mount Teide summit permit: how to book PNT 10 on Tenerife ON
To reach the summit you need authorisation for trail PNT 10 Telesforo Bravo, which runs from La Rambleta (upper cable-car station) to the crater. It is booked on Tenerife ON and, since 19 January 2026, the 09:00–17:00 slots carry a fee based on residency. The cable-car ticket is separate and does not include the permit.
Before you go
The permit is only valid for the booked day and slot, whether or not the cable car is running. You must carry the equipment Tenerife ON requires; with ice or snow, crampons, an ice axe and high-mountain experience are added.
No-summit alternative: Teide sunset and stargazing
If you cannot get a place, a regular tour will not take you to the summit without the PNT 10 permit. This trip does not reach the crater: it crosses the National Park at sunset, with optional dinner and stargazing with telescopes.
- Pickup from South Tenerife hotels
- Guided stargazing with telescopes
- Optional three-course Canarian dinner
Free Alternatives (No Permit Required)
Trail PNT 11 La Fortaleza Viewpoint
Leaves La Rambleta for the viewpoint over the La Fortaleza cliffs and the north of the island. Open access without booking, but you need the cable car or to hike up.
Trail PNT 12 Pico Viejo Viewpoint
Also from La Rambleta, to the viewpoint over the Pico Viejo crater. Open access without booking.
Essential Tips
You cannot hold two nearby dates as a weather backup: Tenerife ON will not book the same person in the 7 days before or after a reserved date.
Match your cable-car time with your permit slot and leave a margin for parking, queues and adjusting to the altitude.
